Carnelian is a type of agate and is found in Brazil, India, Australia, Russia, Madagascar, South Africa, Uruguay and the U.S.A. It is thought to be both energising and stimulating. It is also traditionally thought to keep away evil spirits. Carnelian encourages boldness and is affiliated with the star signs Aries, Capricorn, Gemini, Cancer, Leo and Virgo.
